Tiger Bay Forum
LGAA Tiger Bay Forum’s inaugural presentation was held February 1, 2006. The Honorable Jon Mills was tapped to serve as the emcee and continues to serve in that capacity. In that role, he has the distinction of introducing each speaker to the audience, governing the process for presenting questions from the audience to the speaker, and serving as the gatekeeper. Terri Lowery is the program chair who with the help of Pete Johnson and other LGAA board members selects the venue for each program. The President of the Board, Terri Lowery, hosts the luncheon. To get an idea of the variety of programs presented to date, they are listed in chronological order with photos in the gallery section of this website.
This is a fully interactive luncheon where members and their guests can ask speakers about their work, opinions or anything of interest. Members of the media are not allowed in the meeting for the purpose of reporting.
The person asking the toughest or most insightful question, as deemed by our panel of judges, gets to take home Ellgee A. Alumnus, the LGAA mascot that is signed by all of our speakers in the Tiger Bay series. The only condition is that the winner brings Ellgee back to the next Tiger Bay Forum. At the end of each year Ellgee is awarded permanently to the winner with the best question asked for the year.
To register, contact Jan Patterson at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or call 334-7105 ext. 323. The cost is $20 for LGAA members, $25 for LG graduates and $30 for guests.
